ALESSANDRA LUNDIN
MY STORY
Hi there! My name is Alessandra, and I currently work as an urban planner and designer at Raimi + Associates where I manage small area plan work (specific plans, corridor plans, Downtown plans), zoning codes, objective design standards, general/comprehensive plans, and community outreach and facilitation activities.

I graduated from the UC Berkeley Master of City and Regional Planning program in 2013, where I concentrated in urban design and land use.
Both as a planner and in my previous career as a management consultant, I have particularly enjoyed the challenges of helping clients and communities refine and realize their vision, and building consensus among diverse stakeholders that often do not see eye-to-eye. I have experience assisting non-profit and municipal government organizations to create vibrant and sustainable communities by focusing on high-quality design and the human experience. Many of my projects have aimed at downtown or corridor revitalization, engaging communities in visioning efforts, densifying areas near transit and facilitating housing production, and altering streetscapes to make them more bike and pedestrian friendly. With a background in economics, I strive to ensure that my solutions are innovative, yet grounded in what is realistically feasible.

My skills include site analysis, developing land use alternatives, crafting zoning regulations and design standards, community engagement, mapping, visual rendering, graphic design, 3D modeling, strategic planning, project management, stakeholder coordination, requirements gathering and analysis, and research. I have worked with for-profit, non-profit, federal, state, and city/county government entities, where I formed close and lasting relationships with clients. Coming from a consulting background, I am also accustomed to adapting to rapidly changing assignments and client priorities.
My interests include collaborative community design, the social design and use of public/open spaces, economic revitalization strategies, and finding innovative approaches to retrofit suburban communities.
I am a proud resident of North Oakland, where I live with my husband, daughter, and German Shepherd rescue, Kona. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, cooking, painting and drawing, attempting creative craft/DIY projects, running/hiking with Kona, and traveling.
